Podium Presentation

Presenters are not required to include a disclosure slide in their presentation. If there is a relevant disclosure the author can verbally state this information. The audience will be directed to all authors'  disclosures in the Final Program PDF.

Moderators review the abstracts and conflicts of interest listed by the authors to try to ensure there are no undisclosed conflicts or bias.  Disclosures are listed in the Program PDF that will be sent prior to the meeting and located via the LSRS website.

During discussion times members of the audience will be asked to disclose any conflicts of interest as they pertain to the topic, when they ask a question of the presenters. 


Instructional course talks are meant to stimulate discussion and we should leave ample time for audience questions and moderators must be award of leaving ample time for audience questions.

Attendees for this program include Physicians, Allied Health, Medical Professionals, Students, Researchers, and Industry Partners committed to advancing our knowledge and understanding of the physiology, pathologic processes, and treatment of lumbar disease through the promotion and discussion of research, with the goal of improving patient care.

Slide Uploads:  Presenters may modify their slides as needed through Friday, April 26, 2024. After that time, all presentation content will be in the hands of the onsite AV team.

Rapid Fire presentations are limited to a total of 6 slides. Due to the restricted timeframe for Rapid Fire presentations the program committee requests that the presenter forgo lengthy introduction ensuring that the science is presented thoroughly.  


Pre-registration (Deadline: April 17, 2024 for registration) is required for display of Printed Posters. As long as 1 author on the abstract confirms attendance we will secure a space for your poster.

Printing and transportation of the Poster is the responsibility of the author(s). We will also collect JPGS of the poster, these must be uploaded by April 10, 2024.

Printed Poster Display location:  Sofitel Magnificent Mile - Paris Foyer, 3rdFloor, adjacent to the Annual Meeting Ballroom. All posters will be on display for the entire duration of the 17th Annual Meeting Program:  Thursday, May 2 - Friday, May 3, 2024.

Posters will be promoted throughout the meeting as well as on social media and via eblast to our mailing list. We are pleased to announce that all poster abstracts will be published in the Journal of Neurosurgery May 2024 Spine Issue.

There will be no formal presentation, however, it is recommended that authors who are in attendance at the annual meeting stand near their posters during breaks to facilitate discussion.

Poster Set-up/Tear-down:

·       Posters must be set up prior to 7AM on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

·       LSRS will provide a poster set-up block of time on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 5PM to 7PM.  Staff will be available at that time to answer questions and assist with set-up. This timeframe coincides with the LSRS Instructional Course and Pre-Annual Meeting Registration

  ·       A numbered board spot will correspond with the pre-assigned number which is listed as your ‘assigned ID’ in the Acceptance Notifications. This will be the number by which your poster is identified in all print material.

·       LSRS will provide the pushpins required for attaching your poster to the board.

·       Do not mount your materials on thick poster board as it may be too heavy to attach with pushpins to the fiberboard.

·       Do not write or draw on the fiberboard or use adhesive putty.

·       Posters may not be removed until after the close of the LSRS 17th Annual Meeting. If your poster is not removed after the meeting has ended, LSRS staff will discard it.

Preparing a Printed Poster:

·       Posters should contain succinct headings that organize and logically display the information. 

·       Graphics should be explicit and brief.

·       Poster Board displays are 4ft high x 8 ft wide.  We will display 2 posters on each side. 

·       The dimensions of your poster should not exceed 45 inches wide and 36 inches high, you may use any standard poster size that fits within the 45”x36” space allotted for each poster.

Please note Posters may not include company produced images or company logos.  This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the North American Spine Society (NASS). NASS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical information and subsequent designation of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES:

Presenting from a personal computer or device is not accepted.  All presentations must be turned in to the audiovisual technician and presented from the main computer.  There will be a mouse and wireless clicker to advance the slides as well as a laser pointer.  There will be a “confidence” monitor at the podium to view your slides, however, powerpoint notes will not be visible for the presenter from the podium due to the confidence monitor view. If notes are needed it is best to bring them along in another form..

All presentations must be in Microsoft PowerPoint format (.ppt or .pptx).  Please convert Keynote to PowerPoint and any Apple format video to a PC format.  If a video within a presentation does not convert to a PC we would ask that slides and video be submitted ahead of time to the LSRS.    

PRESENTATION RATIOS:  The data (LCD) projector will accommodate 16:9 ratio.     


Consider taking the train from the airports to the hotel.  It is less convenient but it is faster!  CTA Instructions HERE.

At this time the LSRS does not reimburse for travel expenses or hotel costs. This is due to our commitment to maintaining autonomy from industry dollars and our operating budget does not leave room.
